Smart Pipelines
Stream smarter: Build a pipeline that accumulates results with black-box magic!
DESCRIPTION:
Your design has a streaming architecture wherein a constant stream of inputs is used to perform a mathematical operation and give out a constant stream of outputs.
Structures like these are very common in applications like network encryption where an endless stream of data goes through a transformation one after the other.
You are given an encrypted IP block that performs a certain proprietary mathematical operation on its inputs. It is not possible to model the math in a simple way hence the function itself is a black box to you.
However, the timing characteristics of this block are supplied to you in the datasheet so that you can model its interactions in your design.
PROBLEM STATEMENT:
Datasheet specifies that the black-box function takes 2 clock cycles to perform operation X on its two inputs ip1 , ip2.
